Canadian high commissioner to India Nadir Patel condemns Chhattisgarh Maoist attack

New Delhi: Canadian high commissioner to India Nadir Patel on Monday condoled the deaths of Indian security personnel in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh last week.

Patel tweeted: "Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the attack in #Chhattisgarh. Canada strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and stands together with India @CanadainIndia."

On Saturday, Maoists ambushed security forces that were conducting a major operation in the heavily forested state. 

As a result, over 20 Indian security members were killed and more than 30 sustained injuries.
