CBI arrested a ESIC doctor for taking bribe in Guwahati

Guwahati, June 2 (IBNS): The sleuths of CBI on Friday arrested a doctor, full time specialist (contractual) in Medicine of Guwahati based ESIC hospital, after taking bribe from a contractor.

Following an allegation made by a contractor, a CBI team had raided the hospital and arrested the doctor identified as Dr Mohbur Rahman red handed.

A case was registered under section 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the doctor on a complaint.

A top CBI official said that, the complainant had alleged that the accused demanded the bribe towards fake prescriptions of medicine to be purchased under local purchase of ESIC.

The CBI team had conducted search operation at the office and the residence of accused in Guwahati.
