Kolkata, Jul 5 (UNI) The CBI probing Saradha chit fund scam on Friday questioned painter Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharjee for over four hours for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore rupee scandal, that ruined thousands of poor investors across eastern India.

In another development, the Enforcement Directorate ( ED) on Friday questioned former Tamluk MP and now Congress leader Laxman Seth for over six hours for his alleged connection in the Rose Valley scandal.

Sources said, the CBI quizzed painter Shuvaprasanna for over four hours to know about his selling of shares in Devkripa Vyapar to Saradha's then boss Sudipto Sen against a heavy sum of money, far higher than the market rate.

The painter, who was on the board of directors of the company, had resigned from it after the selloff.
