CBI refuses to probe into IAS officer DK Ravi's death?
Bengaluru, Apr 6 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has refused to probe into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi, reports said on Monday.
The CBI refused the case stating that the state government has imposed "conditions" by giving it a deadline of three months.
"CBI has said 'don't put conditions like this'. We'll send it again to CBI," Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was quoted as saying by media.
The Karnataka government on Mar 23 ordered for a CBI probe into the case.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah had made the announcement in the state Assembly.
The demand for a CBI probe had been widespread from among political parties, social organisations and individuals of all sections of society.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had earlier advised Siddaramaiah to hand over the probe to the central agency.
D.K. Ravi was found dead in his residence in Bangalore city on Mar 16.
Ravi, who took on the sand mafia in the district, had allegedly received threat calls before his death.
He was the Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement).
