New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS): The Congress on Saturday demanded that the Centre should withdraw its Land Ordinance.

Congress tweeted quoting party leader Randeep Surjewala: "INC demands that Modi Govt should forthwith withdraw the #LandOrdinance and apologize to Nation for its subversive designs."

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval to amend the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015.

Changes in the provisions of the Act will facilitate farmers to get better compensation and rehabilitation and resettlement benefits in lieu ofland compulsorily acquired by the appropriate Government.
