Chhattishgarh: Home Minister pays homage to deceased CRPF men

Raipur, Dec 2 (IBNS) Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday paid homage to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans who were killed in the Naxal operation in Sukma District of Chhattishgarh on Monday.

The Union Home Minister visited Raipur today.

"I salute the bravery of our CRPF men who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty," Singh said.

The Union Home Minister announced Rs. 38 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs. 65,000 to those who injured.

Earlier in the day,Rajnath Singh visited the hospital to meet the injured CRPF jawans and enquired about their condition.

The Union Home Minister said that the operation was going on for the past 15 days in Sukma and every time an operation is carried out it is full of risk.

He said that Naxal violence is a national problem and reiterated that centre and the State government will jointly fight this menace.
