CID takes charge of Murshidabad triple murder case, two suspects detained
Jiaganj, Oct 12 (UNI) The Criminal Investigation Department (CID ) of West Bengal police swung into action four days after a family of three was brutally eliminated inside their rented house,here, even as ruling the TMC and opposition BJP have been fiercely debating the motive of the crime.
The CID's action happened a day after actor-director Actor Aparna Sen demanded intervention of chief minster Mamata Banerjee in ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice in the triple killings in Murshidabad saying "such gruesome murder is a shame on us".
Sen's reaction came after Bandhu Prakash Pal (35), his pregnant wife Beauty and their six-year-old son Angan were found brutally murdered while the entire state was celebrating Dasami on October 8.
"Pregnant wife & child of RSS man slaughtered in our own WB," Sen maintained.
"Whatever the reason for such a gruesome act, shame on us! Madam CM! Pls ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice! Irrespective of political inclinations, all citizens of WB are ur responsibility. U are CM to all!"
Two suspects - Amar Pal, father of the deceased and a friend Souvik Bonik - have been detained and are being interrogated The district police superintendent claimed the family might have been murder due to a feud that might have cropped from a property dispute.
BJP president Dilip Ghosh said the teacher was the BJP supporter and has demanded CBI inquiry in the case.
The BJP leadership in West Bengal has sought an appointment with President Ram Nath Kovind and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apprise them about the latest law and order situation in wake of the triple murder.
BJP's general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is also in-charge of party's state unit, claimed the murder of Bandhu Prakash Pal along with his pregnant wife and small child were an example of complete "breakdown" of law and order situation in Bengal.
The state leadership will also stage a protest dharna in front of Gandhi statue in the city today to condemn the ghastly and barbaric act in Murshidabad.
TMC's senior leader Partha Chatterjee also claimed that the murders were result of family feud and alleged that BJP was politicing the issue when the party is entangled in a big trouble in UP.
