New Delhi/IBNS: The Civil Aviation Ministry on Thursday allowed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) a feasibility study on using drones to deliver coronavirus vaccines, an official statement said.

The study will be conducted in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the ministry said.

An "conditional exemption" from the "Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021" has been given for the feasibility study, it added.

The exemption will be effective for one year or until further notice, said the official statement.
