Ara, Apr 27 (UNI) A complaint case was today filed against Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate for instigating people to raise the slogan of 'Chowkidar Chor Hai', a reference for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which caused hatred in society.

A lawyer filed the complaint case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate against Gandhi, alleging that he had instigated the people during an election meeting in Samastipur on April 26, to raise the slogan of 'Chowkidar Chor Hai'.

It was a reference for Prime Minister Narendra Modi which caused hatred in the society, the petitioner pointed out and sought legal action against Gandhi.

The court fixed April 29 as the date for hearing the case.
