Conflicts and confrontation benefit none, says PM Modi amid Israel-Palestine war

New Delhi/IBNS: "Conflicts and confrontation benefit none," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a veiled urge to the world to maintain peace and harmony amid the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

Speaking at the ninth G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit, Modi said, "In the 21st century, unity in diversity is a huge strength for India. This helps us to fight all challenges and solve all problems."

"The world is fighting the danger caused by conflict and confrontation. Conflicts and confrontation benefit none. A divided world can't solve the challenges posed to humanity. This is the time of peace, brotherhood and harmony. This is the time for development for all."

Modi's message comes days after militant organisation Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israeli towns killing over 2,800 people.

Israel on Thursday continued its airstrikes on various areas of Gaza in response to the large-scale surprise attack launched by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Saturday.

The death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip and West Bank has touched 1,569, while 7,212 others were wounded, according to the Ramallah-based Palestinian Health Ministry.

The ministry said in a statement that the number of fatalities in Gaza has reached 1,537, including 500 children and 276 women.

Meanwhile, the first flight carrying 212 Indian people, who were stranded in Israel, arrived in New Delhi on Friday.

The evacuation is taking place after the Indian government announced Operation Ajay, a measure to bring back Indians from war-torn Israel.
