Congress goes alone in KAAC polls, declare party candidate list

Guwahati, May 17 (IBNS): All speculations have been ended after opposition Congress on Wednesday decided to fight alone in the upcoming polls of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and declared its candidates for all 26 council constituencies.

Earlier Congress and Hills State Demand Council (HSDC) discussed to fight jointly in the council poll, but conflicts increased between the both parties for seat sharing.

The Congress fielded its candidate in all constituencies under the council.

The party candidates are Harson Bey (Duar Amla constituency), Damian Hanse (Amri), Rupsing Bongrung (Chinthong), Biswa Rongpi (Socheng), Sing Teron (Rongkhang), Bajong Tisso (Bithung Rengthama), Harendra Kramsa (Kopili), Mohan Engti (Hamren), Alice Engtipi (Amreng), Deuri Lakthe (Howraghat), Longki Engti (langfer), Sanjeeb Teron (Phuloni), Rajani Beypi (Langhin), Men Sing Taro (Karkanthi), Bidya Sing Engleng (Mahamaya), Ashok Teron (Namati), Kareng Teronpi (Socheng Dhenta), Dhan Sing Kramsa (Lumbajong), Etika Diphusa (Dhansiri), Chandra Sing Teron (Singhason), Chandra Kathar (Borjan), Kasang Terangpi (Sarupathar), Lakhiram Soi (Bokajan), Bor Sing Rongpi (Deopani), Khagen Terang (Nilip) and Rajen Engti (Duar Bagori).

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora said that, people of the hills districts are in favour of Congress and want all rounds development.

“Only Congress can do it and  the party will form the next council,” Ripun Bora said.
