Wayanad, May 23 (IBNS): Even as Rahul Gandhi is trailing in Amethi, he is comfortably ahead of his opponent in Wayanad constituency as counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls is currently going on Thursday.

Rahul is contesting from Amethi and Wayanad this time.

Gandhi has crossed two lakh lead margin in Wayanad Lok Sabha Constituency.

According to ECI website, Gandhi is leading by 2,04,533 votes over his nearest rival P P Suneer of Communist Party of India (CPI).

Wayanad is the second seat for Gandhi, who is also contesting from Amethi in UP against Smriti Irani of the BJP.

Smriti is ahead of Rahul Gandhi in Amethi.

Gandhi had defeated Smriti in the same seat in 2014.

Amethi is traditionally considered as a Congress stronghold.

Rahul is a sitting MP from the seat.
