Srinagar/UNI/IBNS: The National Investigating Agency(NIA) will grill former Jammu Kashmir MLA Engineer Gill for suspected links with Hizbul Mujahideen commander Syed Naveed, who was arrested with former DSP Davinder Singh last month, media reports said.

Rashid is currently under judicial custody in Delhi's Tihar jail after he was arrested last Aug in a terror funding case. His name figured during the interrogation of Syed Naveed, reported Hindustan Times.

On Monday, NIA raided the ancestral house of Davinder Singh for an hour. A government employees home at Jaggerpora village in Kupwara and houses of two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in Shopian district were also raided, said the report.

Official sources told news agency UNI that NIA teams on Monday morning, raided the residence of a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant, identified as Omar Dobi in Pinjora, and another militant Farooq Ahmad in Dhargrah and some other places in Shopian. “Raid was also conducted at the resident of DySP Singh at Avrigund Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama,” they said.

On Sunday, five raids were conducted at various places in Shopian.

The sources said that NIA is concentrating on Shopian as the militants arrested along with the DySP have deep links in the district. “The raids were conducted after a team led by a DIG rank officer went to Anantnag on Saturday and held a meeting with the police officials," sources said.

"More raids are expected in the coming days," they added.
