Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman meets Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik

Srinagar, Sept 2 (IBNS): Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday met newly appointed Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here.

Sitharaman and Malik discussed the current situation in the state.

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat also attended the meeting.

"Hon'ble #DefenceMinister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman along with #COAS, General Bipin Rawat called on the Hon'ble #Governor of J&K Shri Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan; discussed overall security situation in the valley @adgpi @PIB_India @DefenceMinIndia @SpokespersonMoD," Official Twitter Account of Northern Command, Indian Army tweeted.

Malik was recently appointed as the Governor of the state.

He replaced NN Vohra.
