New Delhi/UNI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday requested the Centre to re-start Delhi Metro service in a phased manner on a trial basis.

'Coronavirus spread is under control in Delhi. We have requested the Central government to give permission for starting the Metro Rail services in a phased manner on a trial basis,' said the Chief Minister, adding that he was happy for the fact that with everyone's efforts and support, the spread of COVID-19 was under control in the national capital.

The way Delhi has fought Coronavirus, is being talked about and has set an example not only across the country, but across the world, he added.

'Weekly markets and hotels have opened in Delhi and to further bolster the economy, Diesel price in the capital have been reduced further by Rs eight per litre. Thanks to all the traders, organisations and two crore people of the city, I am confident that we all will together bring back the city's economy on track,' he added.
