Delhi cop shoots wife dead on her birthday after mid-ride argument, flees scene
A Delhi Police constable allegedly shot his wife dead in the middle of a road in East Delhi's Kalyanpuri area after a heated argument during a scooter ride early on Monday, police said.
The accused, identified as Manish Bhati, reportedly fled the scene immediately after opening fire on his wife, leaving her critically injured by the roadside.

Eyewitnesses saw couple arguing
According to police and eyewitnesses, the couple was riding a scooter when they got into a verbal altercation.
Bhati allegedly stopped the vehicle, and the argument continued after both got off the scooter.
Witnesses said the constable then pulled out his service weapon and shot his wife before fleeing.
Passerby rushed victim to hospital
The incident came to light when a delivery executive passing through the area noticed the woman lying injured on the roadside. He rushed her to the Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital in East Delhi.
Despite efforts by doctors, the woman succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Victim was a teacher; it was her birthday
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Priyanka, a school teacher. Tragically, the incident occurred on her birthday.
The accused, Manish Bhati, was recently posted with the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) in East Delhi.
Search underway
Police have registered a case of murder and sent Priyanka's body for post-mortem examination.
A search operation has been launched to trace and arrest Bhati, who remains absconding. Investigators are probing the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
