Delhi flood: Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj writes to LG, demanding action against Chief Secretary & Divisional Commissioner

New Delhi: Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday wrote to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena demanding action against Chief Secretary (CS), Divisional Commissioner (DC), and IFC Security for allegedly ignoring instructions of two Delhi Ministers.

Bhardwaj, in his letter, mentioned that ministers had clearly instructed these officers to call NDRF and Army Engineers at night to repair the regulator near the WHO building, but officers ignored the directions causing flooding of VIP areas of Lutyens Delhi including the Supreme Court of India, Delhi government communique said.

Later in the day, LG claimed that work could be done only when NDRF & Engineers Regiment was called the next day.

"Flooding could have been avoided had the directions of ministers been followed and Army/NDRF was called at preceding night," claimed Bhardwaj.
