Delhi hotel fire: 17 people die, several injured

New Delhi, Feb 12 (IBNS): At least 17 people died and several others were injured in a fire which broke out at a hotel in Delhi's Karol Bagh area early this morning, media reports said.

Among 17, a woman and a child were killed after they tried to jump from a window.

Twenty-six fire engines reached the spot as firefighters fought hard to bring the flames under control.

According to reports, fire was first noticed from Hotel Arpit Palace at around 4 am.

The fire was brought under control at around 7 am.

Thirty-five people have been rescued.

The injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is still not known.
