Delhi Liquor scam: AAP calls emergency meeting amid apprehensions of Kejriwal's arrest by CBI

Delhi: As AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is being questioned by the CBI, the party’s Delhi convenor Gopal Rai has called for an emergency meeting at the party office in the national capital, media reports said.

Among those in attendance are AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, and Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal.

All office bearers, district presidents, national secretaries, and party leaders have been asked to attend the meeting.

The emergency meeting has been called amid the detention of several party workers, who were protesting Arvind Kejriwal's questioning by the CBI.

AAP leaders Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Jasmine Shah and other party members were among those who were detained.

"The party is apprehensive of Kejriwal's arrest," AAP sources said, reported India Today.

On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to be questioned in connection with the liquor policy scam case.

The CBI headquarters was heavily secured, with more than 1,000 police personnel deployed outside and Section 144 was clamped in the area to prohibit gatherings of more than four people.
