New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Friday rejected two moves by the Delhi government as part of 'Unlock 3' to ease the restrictions imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had allowed hotels to reopen from Saturday and a one-week trial for the weekly markets in the national capital as part of 'Unlock 3.'

Baijal, who is a representative of the central government and chairs the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, has stated that these orders cannot be implemented.

Responding to the Centre, the AAP government said the Centre should stop interfering in the government's decision all the time.

"The centre derives sadistic pleasure by inflicting pain and misery on people of Delhi and undermining the democratically elected government of Delhi," AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha told media.

Delhi registered 1,195 new coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the capital's tally over 1.35 lakh including 3,963 deaths.

Delhi has now dropped to the 11th spot in terms of active cases across the country.
