Delhi: Six AAP candidates file nominations for Lok Sabha polls

New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI): Six candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) - Pankaj Gupta, Atishi, Gugan Singh, Raghav Chadha, Dilip Pandey and Brajesh Goel - have filed their nominations on Monday for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Delhi.

Chandini Chowk Lok Sabha candidate Pankaj Gupta filed his nomination along with senior party leader Satyendar Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, MLA Rajesh Gupta, Harinder Palkala, MLA J.S. Tomar and environment minister Imran Hussaain.

Atishi filed her nomination from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat and was accompanied by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia while Gugan Singh filed from Delhi North-West.

Raghav Chadha filed his nomination from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat.

Dilip Pandey filed nomination from North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat and was accompanied by senior party leader Gopal Rai.

Brajesh Goel filed from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat in the presence of senior leader N D Gupta.

Mr Chadha carried out a roadshow on Sunday, while the other five candidates carried out mega roadshows before filing their papers on Monday morning.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Pankaj Gupta said: "It has been an exciting day for all of us at @AamAdmiParty. The team of 7 has filed their nominations for the forthcoming Delhi Lok Sabha elections. I wish good luck to all my follow AAP nominees. May the victory be ours for full-statehood. #AAPKe7AAPkesath."

AAP's West Delhi candidate Balbir Singh Jakhar filed his nomination papers on Thursday.

Delhi will go to polls on May 12.
