Development key to snuffing out violence: PM Modi in Bhilai

| @indiablooms | Jun 14, 2018, at 05:24 pm

Bhilai, Jun 14 (IBNS): Raising the slogan of development in a state plagued long by Maoist extremism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said it is the only answer to every form of violence.

Addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai, PM Modi said that his government was working on creating an “atmosphere of trust” through developmental works.

This trust, he said, comes from development that puts an end to violence of all kinds.

“I think development is the only answer to violence and conspiracy of any sort. The trust emanating from development ends violence of any type,” PM Modi said.

Speaking on his government’s efforts to create “an atmosphere of trust”, the PM  said that his dispensation has ensured that a part of the earnings from the natural resources like minerals would be spent on the welfare of locals.

He said the government is also working towards increasing the income of tribals and those living in backward areas.

Earlier in the day,  the PM dedicated to the nation the Integrated Command and Control Centre set up at Naya Raipur - the upcoming capital city of Chhattisgarh.

The centre will control and monitor online water and power supply, sanitation, traffic movement, integrated building management, city connectivity and Internet infrastructure (data centre), under one roof.

The monitoring of Naya Raipur city will also be carried out from the facility.

He also launched the air service between Jagdalpur and Raipur and said that his dream was to see anyone wearing a ‘hawai chappal’ flying in a ‘hawai jahaz’.
