DMK, AIADMK among top regional parties with highest income: ADR report

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IBNS): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) top the list of regional political parties with the highest income for the financial year 2015-2016.

The list was drafted by political watchdog Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

According to the report, the DMK's total declared income for the corresponding period was Rs 77.63 crore, while the AIADMK, its arch-rival, declared Rs 54.938 crore.

Maharashtra based Shiv Sena is third in the list, with a declared income Rs 9.26 crore.

The Asaduddin Owaisi-led, Telangana based All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is fifth in the list, while Telegu Desam Party (TDP), the incumbent party of Andhra Pradesh finished fourth.

TDP and AIMIM  have revealed incomes of Rs 15.878 crore and Rs 3.36 crore respectively.

While the TDP earned more than the Shiv Sena, its total declared expenditure stood at Rs 13.107 crores, thus the net amount was recorded at Rs 2.871 crore.


Total Declared Income:

DMK: Rs 77.63 crore

AIADMK: Rs 54.938 crore

Shiv Sena: Rs 9.26 crore

TDP: Rs 15.978 crore

AIMIM: Rs 3.36 crore

Others: Rs 28.64 crore


Total Declared Expenditure:

DMK: Rs 6.90 crore

AIADMK: Rs 7.096 crore

Shiv Sena: Rs 6.196 crore

TDP: Rs 13.107 crore

AIMIM: Rs 0.67 crore

Others: Rs 22.81 crore


Excess of Income over Expenditure:

DMK: Rs 70.73 crore

AIADMK: Rs 47.842 crore

Shiv Sena: Rs 3.064 crore

TDP: Rs 2.871 crore

AIMIM: Rs 2.69 crore

Others: Rs 5.82 crore
