Drug worth Rs 38 cr seized in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 18 (UNI) Security personnel on Tuesday seized drugs worth about Rs 38 crore in Tengnoupal district.

Eight lakh pieces of banned World is Yours (WY) tablets weighing 80 kg and 3 kg of heroin powder were seized.

Each WY tablet costs Rs 400 while heroin costs Rs 2 crore per kg.

NAB and troops of 18 Assam Rifles seized the contraband drugs during a raid at Bongyang village in Tengnoupal district on September 17,  said NAB SP W Basu at a press conference held here on Wednesday.

One Khaikholun Mate (34) disclosed the place where the drugs were stored.

The combined team raided the area and recovered the drugs.
