Drugs worth Rs 3 crore seized in Manipur

Guwahati, June 27 (IBNS): Security forces have seized huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 3 crore and arrested a person in Manipur’s Moreh area.

According to the reports, a combined team consisting of Moreh battalion of Assam Rifles and Moreh police and Commando arrested a person along with  1,02,392 pieces of WY tablets which value is approximately Rs 3 crore at international market from New Champhai village of Tengnoupal district.

The arrested person was identified as T.S. Khaigunlen Haokip.

The police said contrabands were seized under the Supervision of Additional SP Kh Robinsun and overall supervision of SP Tengnoupal Th Vikramjit Singh.

The search operation conducted  was conducted after an specific inputs from Manipur police CID SB team and it was led by DSP commando Thomas Thokchom and Deputy Commandant of 43 Assam Rifles Major RK Sharma.

The arrested person along with the seized items was handed over to Moreh police station.

43 Assam Rifles (Moreh Battalion), 12 Assam Rifles (Tengnoupal Battalion) and Tengnoupal District Police & Commandos totally seized drugs and Contrabands worth over Rs 90 crore till June this year.
