New Delhi, Jun1 (UNI) In a major development, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned former Civil Aviation Minister and NCP leader Praful Patel in Airline Seat Allotment Scam, sources in the probe agency said here on Saturday.

Patel has been asked to appear before the Delhi ED officials on June 6 for questioning.

He was allegedly in close contact of the main accused in the scam Deepak Talwar and his son Aditya Talwar.

A source in the ED said that the probe agency has evidence of e-mail communications between Deepak Talwar and Praful Patel which implicate the former aviation minister.

The investigation agency has already filed a charge-sheet in this case against Deepak Talwar and his son Aditya Talwar.

“A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Aditya Talwar who is believed to be in Antigua. Deepak Talwar was a 'dear friend' of Praful Patel,” officials said.

The Central financial probe agency move comes after in Airline Seat Allotment Scam was initiated in August 2017 on the basis of FIR registered by CBI against officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, NACIL, Air India and unknown private persons.
