New Delhi: In a setback for former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, a Delhi court on Tuesday allowed the Enforcement Directorate to question him in connection with the INX media case.

The Congress leader is likely to be quizzed on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the ED is likely to arrest him.

The ED wanted to interrogate Chidambaram in the court itself, but the Congress leader’s counsel Kapil Sibal opposed the move and the court also sided with him, saying it would not be correct, reported Hindustan Times.

Chidambaram is currently lodged in the Tihar Jail.

The Congress leader was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation more than a month ago from his Jor Bagh house in the national capital in the INX Media case.

Chidambaram is in jail for allegedly committing corruption by facilitating a huge flow of foreign funds to INX media when he was the finance minister.

He was sent to Tihar jail on Sept 5.
