New Delhi, May 17 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday addressed a press conference here and said the Election Commission's role during the Lok Sabha polls was 'biased'.

"Election Commission's role in this election is biased," Gandhi said.

Gandi said the entire poll was schedule was formed in such a way that it benefited PM Narendra Modi.

"The entire election schedule is formed primarily to benefit Mr. Modi," Gandhi said.

Gandhi said he is ready to work as per the decision taken by the Indian citizen by their right to vote.

The result of the seven-phased polls will be announced on May 23.

"PM Modi is 'accompanying' Amit Shah in a press conference, which is an unprecedented event for him. Let me ask him a question right now- Mr. PM, why did you not accept my challenge to debate on corruption in Rafale?," Gandhi asked Modi.

Gandhi and Modi hold simultaneous press conference in the national capital on Friday.

Campaigning for the final phase of the Lok Sabha polls ended on Friday.

In his first press conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his hopes that his government will return to power once again this time after completing his full tenure of five years.

In 2014, Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party had removed the Congress-led UPA government to storm to power at the Centre.

"The government this time will return with full majority," Modi said in his first press conference.

"I believe we can say some things proudly today. We are the biggest democracy in the world," Modi said.

Taunting the previous UPA-led government, Modi said: "There was a time when IPL had to be taken out of the country for polls. However, when there is an adept government, we can manage to hold elections, observe Ramzan, Easter and more."
