Emirates flight from India crash-lands in Dubai, passengers safe

Dubai, Aug 3 (IBNS) Passengers had a providential escape after an Emirates flight from India's Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai crash-landed in Dubai airport on Wednesday, with images showing thick plumes of smoke and fire from the aircraft emanating soon after it touched down, said officials.
 
The plane touched down and soon the smoke and fire was visible. The flight had 275  people on board. 
 
The Dubai airport was even closed for a while after the incident. 
 
 "275 passengers and crew were on board of Emirates flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai which was involved in the incident. Emergency response teams have been activated and all passengers and crew have been safely evacuated.," tweeted Dubai state media.
 
All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far, it said. 
 
Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on 3rd August 2016 at about 12.45pmlocal time," it tweeted.
 
"All departure flights from #Dubai International Airport have been delayed until further notice," it said.
