New Delhi, Oct 19 (IBNS): A group called Hindu Sena on Monday claimed responsibility for the attack on Jammu and Kashmir lawmaker Engineer Rashid in New Delhi.

Engineer Rashid is an independent MLA from the state.

Speaking to reporters Rashid said: "See what is happening here. It is you to decide whether it is correct  or not."

"People talk of Talibanisation of Pakistan. Today , look what is happening here in India," he said.

Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah has condemned the attack.

"Attack on Eng. Rashid is unacceptable & condemned in the strongest possible terms. This climate of intolerance & violence is very worrying," Abdullah tweeted.

Rashid was earlier thrashed for holding a beef party in Srinagar.
