New Delhi, Feb 4 (IBNS): The Election Commission on Wednesday allayed fears on tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls on Feb 7.

The Commission said it has put in place elaborate administrative measures and procedural checks and balances to prevent any misuse or procedural lapses.

"The Election Commission would like to underline and allay any kind of doubt on the functioning of EVM," the Commission said in a statement.

"It is reiterated that the Commission has put in place   elaborate administrative measures and procedural checks-and-balances aimed at prevention of any possible misuse or procedural lapses," it said.

"The  Election Commission of India has full confidence in the non-tamperability of ECI-EVMs and assures all electors of the country that the  EVMs used by the Commission in elections are non-tameprable," it said.

Delhi will vote to elect a new Assembly on Feb 7.
