Ex-Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah tests COVID-19 negative

Srinagar: Ex-Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah has tested COVID-19 negative.

He had tested positive 18 days back.

Omar tweeted: "I’ve tested negative for COVID 18 days after first testing positive. Thankfully except for a blocked nose day 9 onwards for a few days, I had no symptoms at all. I know a lot of people aren’t as lucky as I was & I’m deeply grateful for that."

India is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases for the past few weeks.

The country recorded  3,23,144 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released report on Tuesday.

During the same period, 2771 people also died due to the deadly virus.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 197894.

There are 28,82,204 active cases in the country at present.

So far, 14556209 people have been discharged.
