Few top political leaders of Assam in touch with BJP
Guwahati, Feb 25 (IBNS): Few top political leaders of Assam including three of Congress are in touch with BJP and are likely to be join the saffron party.
A top source of BJP said that, in past three months several top political leaders including some from the Congress of Assam had met top BJP, RSS leaders and discussed few issues on forthcoming assembly poll in the state, that will be held on 2016.
"An ex minister of Congress led government of Assam had met at least three top leaders of BJP and RSS and he said that at least five Congress MLA's in the state have want to join BJP, " a top BJP leader said.
On the other hand, president of State BJP unit Siddhartha Bhattacharyee said that, not only Congress, other political and non political leaders are in touch with BJP, but the party has not take any decision about the joining matter so far.
"We always welcome them if they will maintain our party policy, " the state BJP unit president said.
Recently a top leader of Assam state BJP Pradyut Bora had resigned from the party and alleged that, some BJP MPs and MLAs of Assam are working at Congress remote control.
In his resignation letter to party president Amit Shah, Pradyut Bora specially mentioned Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's name and said that, the party have taken decision as promoting Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma as BJP'S "Model Karyakarta".
