Five killed in Assam road mishap

Guwahati, Dec 12 (IBNS) : At least five people were killed in a road mishap in Assam's Kamrup district on Friday, police said.

The incident took place at Azara Matia in Kamrup district on Friday morning where five people were killed in a road mishap.

"The driver of a Tata pickup van had lost his control and the speedy vehicle fall in road where three people were killed on spot and six others were injured, " a police official said.

The injured persons were rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

Two people succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

The deceased persons were identified as Pankaj Maranta, Kiransen Gohain, Moniram Das, Gopal Kalita, Ranjit Pathak.
