Five labourers die in road mishap in Assam’s Nagaon district

Guwahati, Aug 12 (IBNS): At least five labourers were killed and two others injured in a head on collision between a speedy truck and a Wagon-R vehicle at the National Highway 37 in central Assam’s Nagaon district on Saturday night.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Rongagora area under Samaguri police station.

The Wagon-R car, on its way from Sivasagar, collided head-on with a truck which was coming from the opposite side.

According to locals, heavy rains were responsible for the accident.

The incident happened when seven labourers hailing from Barama area under Samaguri police station, engaged in a construction work in Sivasagar district, were returning home.

Three people died on spot while two others expired on the way to hospital.

Two others have been admitted at Nagaon civil hospital in serious condition.

Among the deceased, four have been identified as Rasidul Haque, Sariful Islam, Abu Bakkar Siddique and Safikul Islam.
