Flights affected globally by Air India's server system failure; restored

New Delhi, Apr 27 (IBNS): National carrier Air India's server system SITA, which faced problem in early morning affecting flight operations, has been restored.

Air India's flight operations were affected across India and abroad.  

The server was down from 3:30 am.

After the restoration, Air India tweeted, "Our server system SITA, which faced a temporary glitch, this morning was restored at 0845hrs. Air India senior executives, including CMD, Directors, Station Heads rushed to airports to take control of situation & facilitate pax. Flts rescheduled to minimise inconvenience."

The problem has been attributed to SITA, media report said.

One of the Twitter users in the name of Mihir Gajera tweeted, "#airindia still thinking about those software engineers whose weekend is ruined. Mine too."
