Indian and Thailand officials participated in the 7th Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) when they noted the growth in bilateral trade in recent years and even agreed to look to exploit its full potential through regular Government-to-Government (G2G) and B2B (Business to Business) interactions and business collaborations.

The meeting was held in Bangkok city on Monday and the Indian side was represented by Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs.

Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, co-chaired the meeting

"The two sides undertook a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in a number of areas, including trade & investment, MSMEs, defence & security, connectivity, health, culture, and science & technology. Both sides welcomed regular meetings of their bilateral mechanisms," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments and agreed to coordinate closely in multilateral and regional fora, including in UN, BIMSTEC, IORA, MGC, ACD and India-ASEAN," read the statement.

The next FOC will be held in India.
