Former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair joins BJP

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IBNS):  Former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party media reports said.

Nair reportedly joined the party in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah.

Speaking to The Times of India, Nair said: "I am not a politician and even after this, I will not be one."

"I have been working with the BJP for a while now because I was impressed with the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yesterday, the party president (Amit Shah) just officially inducted me into the party. "

Nair has served as the former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation and Secretary to the Department of Space, Government of India.

He has also been the Chairman of the Space Commission and Chairman of the Governing Body of the Antrix Corporation, Bangalore.
