Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah's detention extended

Srinagar/UNI: The detention of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah under safety act has been extended for three more months, official sources said here.

Dr Abdullah and two other former Chief Ministers - Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti - besides dozens of other former ministers and legislators under detention since August 5, when centre scrapped Article 370 and 35A, besides downgraded the state and divided it in two Union Territories.

Dr Abdullah, Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar is currently on detention under PSA and his Gupkar house was turned into sub-jail.

Detention of Dr Abdullah has been extended for three more months, official sources told UNI.
