Four killed in Nashik accident

Nashik, May 20 (UNI) Four persons were killed on the spot while six others were injured, when a speeding truck dashed them at Krisnhagaon on Vani-Nashik road in Kalwan taluka of the district last night.

According to the Vani police, Thakur family having ten members after taking darshan of 'Saptashrungi Devi' (goddess) at Vani was returning to Nashik from Peth road by their vehicle.

During the ride, their vehicle got break down around 2030 hrs on Sunday, so they got down and was waiting for another vehicle on Vani-Nashik road when suddenly a speeding truck dashed them, killing four on the spot, while six others were injured.

The deceased were identified as Ganesh Bhagati Prasad Thakur (31), Kunal Kailas Thakur (25), Aashish Manik thakur (30) and Sagar Ashok Thakur.

Six injured are being treated at Vani primary health center. The truck driver was absconded from the spot after the accident.

A case was registered and further investigation was on, they added.
