Fresh flood submerged 10 villages in Assam’s Mariani

Guwahati, Aug 18 (IBNS): The fresh flood waters of Teok river have submerged at least 10 villages in Mariani area in Assam’s Jorhat district on Sunday.

Following heavy rains in past couple of days, the water level of Teok river is overflowing and submerged 10 villages of Mariani.

Many people have been forced to leave their homes and take shelter in higher lands after the flood water entered into the homes.

The flood waters have also submerged roads, agricultural lands in the area.

Over 90 people were died in the recent flood in Assam by affecting over 58 lakh people of 32 districts in the state.
