Panaji/IBNS: A German woman was found dead in her flat at Canacona in South Goa by her daughter who flew down to Goa to check her mother’s wellbeing after her calls went unanswered over the past few weeks, media reports said.

Stephanie Hisser, 53, who lived alone in Canacona in South Goa, was found dead by her daughter after she broke into the apartment.

Hisser’s daughter, Himani Hisser, reached the apartment on September 16 with a friend and found it latched from inside.

She broke into the flat by shattering window panels with the help of her friend, only to find her mother lying dead.

Media reports said Himani Hisser told police that Stephnie had been suffering from asthma and depression for the past few years and was under treatment.

A case of unnatural death has been registered under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and police have not commented on the cause of death.
