Govt employee killed in Kashmir firing

Jammu, Dec 2 (IBNS): A guard of fisheries department was killed after security forces cordoned off a village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district Friday night.

"Employee was killed in a  cross firing between militants and forces in the evening," police official said.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Kumar.

He  was resident of Devsar Kulgam .

He was posted at government fisheries unit in Chanchar village where a cordon was laid by forces.

Reports said that some gunshots were heard after the village was cordoned off.

A police official said that Kumar was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam where he was declared dead on arrival.
