According to media reports, while the situation in Assam and the north eastern part of the company is improving gradually, states such as Gujarat and Rajasthan have been forced to declare high alerts. In West Bengal, lowlands in Birbhum, Purulia, West Medinipore and Hooghly districts are also in the grip of floods.
