New Delhi, Dec 10 (IBNS) At Hannover Messe 2015, the world’s largest industrial trade fair, India will take centre stage as the official partner country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fair together with Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The Hannover Fair, which will be running from 13 to 17 April 2015, is set to give a boost to India’s manufacturing sector.

German Ambassador to India, Michael Steiner, said: “India’s participation as partner country of the Hannover Messe is of great importance to both India and Germany. This fair provides the perfect platform to showcase India’s engineering prowess and reinforce the Government initiatives ‘Make in India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Digital India’. It also has the potential to boost Indo-German cooperation, since German world-class manufacturing enterprises and Indian world-class IT engineers make a perfect match as drivers of industry 4.0.”

Annually, the Hannover Fair attracts about two hundred thousand visitors from across the world, a majority being key decision makers. China and Russia have been among the partner countries of Hannover Messe in recent years. Last year, a total number of 5,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries showcased their products.

The German Embassy is working closely with the Ministry of Commerce, Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt Ltd (HMFI), the Indian subsidiary of the Global JV Company Hannover Milano Global (a joint venture of Deutsche Messe and Fiera Milano), the Engineering Export Council (EEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to prepare and promote this upcoming highlight of Indo-German cooperation.
