A Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team on Sunday arrested two policemen, including a sub-inspector, red-handed in Nuh district while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000.

The two accused were Inspector (SI) Surender and Head Constable Birpal, posted at Ferozepur Jhirka police station.

A government spokesperson said here the ACB team received a complaint that the accused were demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in exchange for not registering a false case against him. The complainant said that the accused had already taken Rs 1.5 lakh as bribe in the form of tyres in this case.

The ACB team devised a plan to catch the accused and arrested them red-handed while they were taking a bribe of Rs 5,000.

A case has been registered against the accused at the Gurugram ACB police station and further investigation is underway.
