New Delhi/IBNS: In a shocking incident, a journalist working for a prominent news channel was chased by two bike-borne men in Noida Sector 129 while she was returning from office after midnight on Friday, NDTV reported.

The senior producer working for NDTV was on her way back home at around 12:45 am to Delhi's Vasant Kunj when the men on a scooty started chasing her car on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

The journalist, who was driving a Ford Figo, said as quoted by the broadcaster, "They tried to stop me. Initially, I ignored them, but I later noticed that they were trying to block my car.

"The men gestured to me to stop, but I continued to drive. I took out my phone and started recording the men in an attempt to ward them off."

"I sped my car and somehow managed to reach the DND Flyway. However, the two men kept following me. I also contacted my colleague and asked what to do, to which they said to keep driving and do not stop," she added.

The journalist said the man sitting behind on the scooty took a wooden object and broke the windscreen and left rear window of her car.

Later she contacted the police and upon reaching Lajpat Nagar, a few taxi drivers came to her rescue seeing she was in trouble.

"I asked them (cab drivers) to help me, and they told me to park my car to the side. I stopped my car at the Gupta market in Lajpat Nagar, and the two men on the scooty were gone," she said.

Police, who had reached the spot and took the woman's statement, have identified the accused.

Five teams of South East District Police have been mobilised to arrest the accused.
