Huge cache of arms-ammu of NSCN-K recovered in Arunachal

Guwahati, Sept 1 (IBNS) : Security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to NSCN-K militants in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday evening, officials said.

Based on intelligence input, the Changlang battalion of Assam Rifles, under Dao division, had carried out an operation near Chinsa village under Changlang district along the Indo-Myanmar border and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area.

Kohima based Defence PRO Colonel Chiranjeet Konwer said that, security personnel had recovered an AK-47, one Sniper Rifle, one Pistol with ammunition and other warlike equipments from the area.

“The seizure arms, ammunition and other warlike equipments are belonging to the banned outfit group and the recovery is likely to impact the operations of this banned organisation and also will be a blow to the extortion activities of NSCN (K) in this area,” Colonel Konwer said.
