Hyderabad: Lovers attempts to commit suicide, 1 die

Hyderabad, Jun 25 (UNI) A man died and his girl friend was battling for life at the hospital when the duo, who are lovers, attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide at Dilsukhnagar here on Monday midnight.

Police said, the lovers--Sandeep Reddy and Thriveni hails from Ragannaguda in Nalgonda district. They fell in love and decided to get married. However their parents spurned their proposal.

Hence they decided to commit suicide. Both of them consumed pesticide after mixing in the cool drink at the rented house of Sandeep and fell unconscious, Police added.

The neighbours who noticed it immediately shifted them to a nearby hospital where Sandeep died while undergoing treatment while Thriveni was shifted to Yashoda hospital, Malakpet for better treatment. She was battling for life at the hospital.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
