Mumbai/IBNS: A Hyderabad man has been arrested for giving rape threats to Virat Kohli's baby daughter on social media after team India lost back-to-back matches in the recent T20 World Cup, media reports said.

A special team of the Mumbai Police arrested Ramnagesh Srinivas Akubathini, 23, this afternoon and took him to Mumbai, reported NDTV.

Following a massive outrage over the rape threat, and police started investigating screenshots of the threats, he allegedly changed his Twitter handle and pretended to be a Pakistani user, the report said.

Police sources said that he is a software engineer and is currently unemployed. He had previously worked with a food app company.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had also called for an investigation by Delhi Police.
